Indie Week 2012: Saturday w/ Magneta Lane

Saturday night of Indie Week was the Epiphone showcase at The Horseshoe Tavern. Funny story about the Horseshoe… the beer that night tasted like peanuts, or peanut butter for some reason. My assumption is they don’t clean the bar lines. Anyone else notice that? Just me?

Magneta Lane did the best they could with what they were given. Cheap beer aside, apparently the sound technician needed a good clean out too. Not only were they unable to set the levels to their liking but the mic wasn’t high enough, and their was a lot of feedback. They had to restart half way through one song to compensate for this. Luckily for us, the band has been together for a long time and works so well together that this was no obstacle for them. There were even some gross old straight men cat calling them for their entire show that they managed to endure without throwing something at them. So I guess overall this was a pretty entertaining performance!

Honourable mention to The Suburbians (Ireland Indie Week 2011 Winners) who came on afterwards and rocked it. Plus the lead singer ain’t too bad on the eyes, too.
